Another option would be to do automated browser testing with Selenium
I beleive you have missied to mention Robot framework!
What about Test Complete?
this article deserve to be bookmarked .. thanks..
please share others tools to which does not come under the category of web testing
good information for me and i will use it…..
Pls. add MarathonITE (www.marathontesting.com) tool for Java/FX, Java/Swing and Web Testing to this list.
To be honest I had no clue there are so many tools available for web app testing. Will surely use some of them. Thanks for sharing.
Very informative article showcasing the popular web application testing tools. As per my experience with Test Complete & TestingWhiz(A code-less test automation tool ), testing of web applications became very easy & it helped me authenticate overall functioning of web apps to deliver an efficient and effective experience at user’s end.
You lost me when prioritizing Ranorex and TestCafe over Test Complete (SmartBear) and Test Studio (Telerik) under functional testing. These reviews seem heavily geared towards scripted automation, but the market is much more leaning towards codeless…
Hope your readers don’t consider this review to be an accurate assessment of the industry.
They give good instruments on automating cross browser testing and finding the issues quickly.
nice one mate
Nice!
I want a sample web site/ web application for testing. where from i get this stuff. like collection on website portal etc ?? . please help mi.
Thanks for your list, will check out some more tools here. I’ve learned using Selenium first (I guess many do even though it’s a bit hard to catch up) then checked out Katalon Studio to see how can it be “a better solution” than Selenium. Woah, to be honest, it’s pretty cool. Besides, I expressed with LoadRunner and may check it out later.
Glad to see Katalon Studion in the Positon 2. It such a great tool i’ve known.
Awesome list.
any one tell me which free ware tool we used to both despot and web application
Such a helpful review! Short but provide enough information for users to have a general viewpoint about each product.
Recommend people to try LoadUI for load & performance test and Katalon Studio for functional test. These tools are cool!
Which is the best tool of pen testing and we need reported in pdf.
In addition to Apache JMeter there are followin free and open source popular load testing tools available:
Grinder (http://grinder.sourceforge.net/)

Tsung (http://tsung.erlang-projects.org/)
See http://blazemeter.com/blog/open-source-load-testing-tools-which-one-should-you-use guide for main features highlighting and comparison
I’d like to notify about a new open-source testing tool TestCafe. It’s a pure node.js end-to-end solution for testing web apps. It takes care of all the stages: starting browsers, running tests, gathering test results and generating reports. TestCafe doesn’t need browser plugins – it works in all popular modern browsers out-of-the-box.
Hey there! Thanks for the list/breakdown of the top tools! Definitely, recommend UserTest.io to be added for a future list.
+1 on GhostInspector for web application testing tool. It’s like having PhantomJS+CasperJS wrapped up in a SaaS tool, along with test scheduling/execution and an API.

Most testing solutions are dedicated to functional testing or load testing. QA Wizard Pro does both without compromise, so you’ll only have to learn one new tool at a low reasonable fee. Use existing functional test scripts, or write completely new ones, to measure web site performance under real-world usage scenarios. Run existing functional test scripts under stressed conditions by limiting network, memory, and disk access. Automate testing with an easy to use scripting environment, intelligent adaptation to application changes, and blazing fast playback speed. Test web applications in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Google Chrome—all using the same scripts. Adobe Flash is supported too. Test applications developed using popular languages and technologies like Java, Flash, HTML 5, TinyMCE, JavaScript, Silverlight, C#, VB.NET, C++, Win32, Qt, AJAX, ActiveX, DevExpress controls, Delphi controls, Janus Systems controls, Oracle Forms, and Infragistics Windows Forms controls and more. Intelligent custom control support helps QA Wizard Pro test a wide range of non-standard controls. Testing made easy, flexible with good reports and inexpensive.
