Thank you for posting this list. Quite useful.
wow it is very useful
Nice list! Thanks for the details…
We are using Applitools (http://applitools.com) for web and mobile functional and visual regression testing. This solution offers SDKs for Selenium, QTP and other tools and it works great.
In addition to Apache JMeter there are followin free and open source popular load testing tools available:
Grinder (http://grinder.sourceforge.net/)
Gatling (http://gatling.io)
Tsung (http://tsung.erlang-projects.org/)
See http://blazemeter.com/blog/open-source-load-testing-tools-which-one-should-you-use guide for main features highlighting and comparison
Nice list. Would love to see such list for mobile testing tools.
You forgot to mention Visual Studio with their cloud load testing which is quite handy and nice tool from my experience.
Try http://www.equafy.com as well. Cross browser testing in the cloud.
Good functional test tool for REST web services and APIs is HttpMaster (http://www.httpmaster.net).
What about Test Complete?
Hi! Thanks a lot for putting this list together. I think two pretty relevant tools in the section Web Functional/Regression testing Tools are missing though: https://ghostinspector.com/ and http://www.frontendtest.org
this article deserve to be bookmarked .. thanks..
please share others tools to which does not come under the category of web testing
any one tell me which free ware tool we used to both despot and web application
They give good instruments on automating cross browser testing and finding the issues quickly.
Another option would be to do automated browser testing with Selenium
+1 on GhostInspector for web application testing tool. It’s like having PhantomJS+CasperJS wrapped up in a SaaS tool, along with test scheduling/execution and an API.
Thanks for sharing the list of web app testing tools and Categories!! I would like to request you to add ClicTest (One of the fastest growing Independent software testing services provider in UK) in the list.

I want a sample web site/ web application for testing. where from i get this stuff. like collection on website portal etc ?? . please help mi.
Most testing solutions are dedicated to functional testing or load testing. QA Wizard Pro does both without compromise, so you’ll only have to learn one new tool at a low reasonable fee. Use existing functional test scripts, or write completely new ones, to measure web site performance under real-world usage scenarios. Run existing functional test scripts under stressed conditions by limiting network, memory, and disk access. Automate testing with an easy to use scripting environment, intelligent adaptation to application changes, and blazing fast playback speed. Test web applications in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Google Chrome—all using the same scripts. Adobe Flash is supported too. Test applications developed using popular languages and technologies like Java, Flash, HTML 5, TinyMCE, JavaScript, Silverlight, C#, VB.NET, C++, Win32, Qt, AJAX, ActiveX, DevExpress controls, Delphi controls, Janus Systems controls, Oracle Forms, and Infragistics Windows Forms controls and more. Intelligent custom control support helps QA Wizard Pro test a wide range of non-standard controls. Testing made easy, flexible with good reports and inexpensive.
Nibbler is awsome test web tool
I would like to suggest SRJTester here, with following capabilities:
1. Automated testing of SOAP / REST / JSON Web services
2. Support for https/http/Client/server certificate and many more features
3. Customization as per your requirements
Smartbear TestComplete tool is missing.
Awesome list.
nice one mate
I’d like to notify about a new open-source testing tool TestCafe. It’s a pure node.js end-to-end solution for testing web apps. It takes care of all the stages: starting browsers, running tests, gathering test results and generating reports. TestCafe doesn’t need browser plugins – it works in all popular modern browsers out-of-the-box.
You lost me when prioritizing Ranorex and TestCafe over Test Complete (SmartBear) and Test Studio (Telerik) under functional testing. These reviews seem heavily geared towards scripted automation, but the market is much more leaning towards codeless…
Hope your readers don’t consider this review to be an accurate assessment of the industry.
Nice information.
this is a really useful information to me . Can anybody tell this following question’s answer please.
1.what is smoke testing tools,component?
2.what is test plan tools,component?
Any testing tool for Windows Based applications, to test that application installing on different OS properly or not.

Nice!
To be honest I had no clue there are so many tools available for web app testing. Will surely use some of them. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your list, will check out some more tools here. I’ve learned using Selenium first (I guess many do even though it’s a bit hard to catch up) then checked out Katalon Studio to see how can it be “a better solution” than Selenium. Woah, to be honest, it’s pretty cool. Besides, I expressed with LoadRunner and may check it out later.
Such a helpful review! Short but provide enough information for users to have a general viewpoint about each product.
Recommend people to try LoadUI for load & performance test and Katalon Studio for functional test. These tools are cool!
Katalon Studio + Qtest = best combo :)
Can i have intro about Zed Attack Proxy…? Is this a useful security testing tool??
