This Notta review tutorial is a comprehensive analysis of the Notta.ai tool that showcases the AI-powered capability to convert audio to text instantly:

Transcribing audio recordings has always been frustrating but taking notes in a live meeting is a whole another level of tedious. As someone who has spent hours on end trying to take meeting minutes, trust me when I tell you how time-consuming and painfully challenging the entire endeavor is.

There is always a high likelihood of you omitting crucial details or struggling to keep up with what each speaker is saying. Fortunately, there are AI-based tools out there that can considerably streamline this entire process.

Notta Review: AI Audio Transcription

Notta Review

My quest for a great AI-based transcription tool is what first brought me to Notta. A prominent transcription tool in Japan, Notta has successfully catered to more than a million users in around 119 countries worldwide.

Intrigued by it, I felt compelled to give the tool a try. I will chronicle my experience with the Notta App in this Notta review. I will share my thoughts on its core capabilities, features, price, UI, etc. Ultimately, I will let you know whether the software lives up to its hype as one of the best AI audio transcription software out there.

So, without much further ado, let’s get started with Notta Review.

What is Notta AI

Notta

Notta is an AI audio-to-text transcriber. The software can transcribe any audio or video file you upload to text with the help of an advanced AI. Notta’s AI considerably automates an otherwise tedious transcription task. This AI will simply detect the audio it is being fed and automatically transcribe it with little to no effort from your side.

All you have to do is import your audio or video recording, and Notta AI will do the rest. What distinguishes Notta AI from other transcription tools of its kind is the AI bot’s ability to transcribe live online meetings.

This is an aspect of the tool that appeals to me the most. This is an excellent tool for real-time transcription and is further bolstered with a ton of advanced features like the AI summarizer, audio translator, and more.

We will take an in-depth look at each of these features. Before we do that, however, let us look at the various ways in which you can put this speech-to-text AI transcriber to good use.

What is Notta AI Used For

As an easy-to-use voice-to-text AI transcriber, Notta AI can serve a wide range of purposes. The ability of this tool to automatically convert audio to text in real-time is its most obvious benefit. This ability comes in handy if you wish to take notes to capture each word being spoken in a webinar, online meeting, conference, or client interview.

Independent content creators like YouTubers, podcasters, and vloggers can also use this tool to transcribe their own video and audio recordings. Video creators can rely on this tool to create accurate subtitles for their content in multiple languages.

I also believe that Notta AI can be of great help to writers who wish to speed up their writing or to journalists who can focus on the interviewee in front of them as Notta’s AI takes notes on their behalf.

Now that you know what Notta AI entails, let’s take an in-depth look into the features this tool offers.

Notta AI Features Breakdown

One thing I quickly realized while using Notta is the fact that this isn’t your typical AI transcription tool. The features it comes loaded with serve as a testament to this. Let me quickly go over all the features and share my thoughts on each one.

#1) Audio and Video Transcription

As I mentioned before, Notta is known for its AI-based audio and video transcription capabilities. You simply import an audio or video file onto Notta’s interface and it will automatically start converting every spoken word on these files into text.

Notta’s interface

You also have the option of importing a video or audio file from an online link. Here, I copy-pasted the link to a YouTube video I wished to transcribe. Once pasted, I simply hit the ‘Upload’ button, and Notta immediately started transcribing the file. The transcribed file is available for you to preview on your dashboard.

If you’re satisfied with the transcripts, you can choose to export them in DOCX, TXT, PDF, Excel, SRT, or even MP3 audio format.

#2) Dictation in Real-Time

Besides uploading an audio file or copy-pasting a link to it, there is yet another more intuitive way in which Notta performs its transcription duties. The software can transcribe your spoken words in real time.

Dictation in Real-Time - Notta Review

You can record audio via your microphone directly within Notta’s interface. Your recorded audio will be transcribed in real-time as you continue to speak.

While dictating, you can hit the pause button to stop transcribing momentarily and resume again when you wish. Once you are done recording, simply hit the ‘Stop’ button.

The software’s quick at capturing your words and converting them to text. The transcription’s quite accurate as well. However, I would recommend having a quieter room with only one person speaking at a time for better-quality transcription.

This feature alone makes the ideal for interviewers, podcasters, and journalists who could save a lot of time taking notes.

#3) Notta Bot for Online Meeting Transcription

Perhaps the best aspect of this software is Notta’s online meeting transcribing AI bot. This is also the feature that initially attracted me to Notta as someone who despises taking notes during a meeting. The software integrates seamlessly with video-conferencing tools like Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.

Once you give Notta’s AI bot access to a meeting occurring on this platform, it will automatically start transcribing each speaker’s words in real-time. All you have to do is copy-paste the meeting invite link onto Notta’s interface and hit the ‘Transcribe Now’ button.

After having used the tool to transcribe an hour-long meeting, I was pleasantly surprised by how quick and accurate it was. Not a single word was left out. Every minute detail was transcribed with perfection.

How to use Notta to Transcribe Meetings?

Before transcribing a meeting, make sure you have a meeting link. For the sake of this Notta review, I’ll be demonstrating the process with Google Meet.

Once you have the link, open your Notta account. Hit the ‘Transcribe Live Meetings’ button, which will be available to you on the right-hand side of your screen.

Now choose your desired transcription language, paste the meeting invite link, give the file a nickname, and hit the ‘Transcribe Now’ button.

A new file will be created on your dashboard. Open it and you will witness your meeting being transcribed in real-time.

#4) Translate Audio

Notta’s ability to translate audio into a text of your desired language is another area that had me floored.

Below is a small example of my English-spoken audio being transcribed into Arabic in real-time.

translation

The software currently supports 104 transcription and 42 translation languages. This includes Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, Thai, Japanese, and more. Once translated, you can also choose the original text and its translation to be displayed side-by-side in the concluding transcript file.

#5) Notta AI Notes (Previously AI Summary)

summary

AI Notes, or AI summarizer as it was previously known, is a feature that automatically creates summaries of long conversations. This is an invaluable feature, especially for those who are tasked with taking notes during a meeting or webinar.

To use the feature, simply hit the ‘General Template’ button available to you right beside your generated transcript. Notta’s AI will create a summary with a default template based on the transcript.

The generated summary in my case was concise and described the basic gist of the transcribed material very well.

#6) Name Recognition and Timestamps

When Notta transcribes an audio or a live meeting, its AI is intelligent enough to identify the speakers involved in that conversation based on their voices. So when you open the generated transcript, you’ll see the speakers identified and tagged as ‘Speaker 1’ or ‘Speaker 2’.

name and time - Notta Review

Along with the speaker’s name, there are transcripts attached to the generated text as well. This makes it easier for you to identify who said what during the meeting. You can edit the speaker’s name later in the transcript. You can also use this name tag to filter in the text that a particular speaker said.

#7) Interface and UI

Even before I could try out all of Notta’s features, it had already won me over with its UI. The clean, clutter-free layout of Notta’s interface makes the tool easy to navigate and use. Most of the tool’s capabilities are automated, thanks to its AI bot.

All you have to do to perform certain tasks is find the desired action on the interface and click on it.

Dashboard

We can do everything from importing an audio file to transcribing and sharing files with others in just a single click. We can access all core functions via a single click from the right-hand side of the interface.

Your recorded and in-process transcripts can be accessed directly from the main dashboard. In the main transcript window, you get the option to play, pause, or stop the original audio that was just transcribed. The generated transcript will have the speaker’s name and timestamps attached.

If you wish to add notes, insert pictures, copy text, or delete it, you can move the cursor over a section of the transcript.

You can also perform some quick edits by hitting the ‘Find and Replace’ button present on the top right-hand side of your interface. Right beside either side of that button, you’ll also find the option to share or download the transcript in multiple file formats.

I have no complaints with Notta for its interface. It is immaculate and easy to navigate, as modern software should be.

#8) Security

security

You are probably going to use Notta to transcribe data that is valuable to you and your business. So it only makes sense for the software to have some robust security protocols. Thankfully, Notta excels in this area as well. Foremost, the software complies with all essential security regulations. This includes compliance with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and SOC 2.

The risk of your data being lost is very low with Notta as the software regularly runs data backup and recovery tasks. The stringent password management policy also ensures that your data remains protected from unauthorized access.

The software also ensures secure encrypted data transfer by implementing secure HTTPS protocols between users and services.

#9) Notta Mobile App

Another great aspect of Notta is the effort its developers have put into the app to ensure the software is convenient to use. This is more apparent with Notta’s mobile app and Chrome extension.

convenient to use - Notta Review

Notta is available as an app for both Apple and Android smartphone devices. The mobile app works just as smoothly as its web-based alternative.

extensions

The Notta Chrome extension will help you transcribe an audio or video directly within the Chrome web page without having to leave it.

With the extension, you’ll be able to easily transcribe a YouTube video or a Spotify audio while it is still playing on the web page.

Notta Pricing and Plans Review

Notta adheres to a flexible pricing structure. You are offered monthly and annual subscription plans.

price

The pro version of Notta can be availed for $13.99/month and $8.25/month if billed annually. It accommodates 1 user and ensures 1800 minutes’ worth of transcription per month.

The business version starts at $59/month and $44/month if billed annually for 2 seats. It ensures 2400 minutes of transcription per month. An enterprise plan with a customized quote is also available.

Besides this, we can use the software for free with limited capabilities. This free version only allows you to transcribe 120 minutes’ worth of files per month.

If you are a journalist, podcaster, or content creator on platforms like YouTube, then I would suggest you go with the Pro version of the tool. If you wish to transcribe live meetings or conferences, then the business or custom plan will best serve your needs.

Overall, I feel the price is reasonable. I wouldn’t have put restrictions on the minutes you can transcribe as far as paid plans are concerned.
